Two Years Running: Launceston By Foot Named a Business Excellence Awards Finalist
We’re pretty chuffed to share that Launceston By Foot has been named a finalist in Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality at the Launceston Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards for the second year running.
For our little walking tour business, that feels pretty special.
In 2025, we were finalists alongside Du Cane Brewing, Paint the Town Red, Tamar River Cruises and Timbre, with Timbre ultimately taking home the award. In 2026, we were finalist alongside Tamar River Cruises, Du Cane Brewing, Josef Chromy Wines and Tatler Lane By Sweetbrew.
Tatler Lane By Sweetbrew took home the award, and while we didn’t walk away with the trophy, it was pretty hard to be disappointed when we looked at the company we were keeping.
The Best Part? We Recommend These Guys
If you’ve ever joined us on a Launceston By Foot tour, you’ll know we don’t just tell you a few stories and send you on your way.
One of our favourite questions is:
“What should we do next?”
Where should we eat? Which winery should we visit? Where can we get a great local beer? What should we do with another day in Launceston?
So there’s something pretty cool about being recognised alongside Timbre, Paint the Town Red, Tamar River Cruises, Du Cane Brewing, Josef Chromy Wines and Tatler Lane because these aren’t simply businesses we stood beside at an awards night.
They’re businesses and experiences we genuinely recommend to our guests.
We want visitors cruising the kanamaluka/Tamar River, drinking locally made beer, discovering our wineries, eating somewhere brilliant and experiencing far more of Launceston and Northern Tasmania than just the time they spend walking with us.
We Want to Be Your Guides to Launceston
Launceston By Foot started in 2019 with a simple idea: one of the best ways to understand Launceston is to walk it with a local.
Today, our Heart of Launceston and Dark Side of Launceston walking tours are only part of what we do. We also work with festivals, conferences, private groups, visiting media and local organisations to create experiences that connect people with our city.
But the heart of what we do hasn’t really changed.
We don’t just want to be your walking tour guides. We want to be your guides to Launceston.
We want you to finish a tour with a list of restaurants to try, local wine to drink, places to explore and stories you’ll remember.
So being named a finalist in Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality at the Launceston Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards for two consecutive years — 2025 and 2026 — is something we’re incredibly proud of.
And yes... we’d still quite like that trophy one day.

Because if you leave loving Launceston a little more than when you arrived, we’ve done our job.
